From: info at marcvangend dot nl Operating system: PHP version: Irrelevant Package: Documentation problem Bug Type: Documentation Problem Bug description:count() return values: incorrect "not ... or not" Description: ------------ The documentation for count(), under Return Values, says: "If the parameter is not an array or not an object with implemented Countable interface, 1 will be returned." The "not ... or not" is logically incorrect; it it were correct, count() would always return 1 because an array is not an object with implemented Countable interface and vice versa. I believe logically correct wordings would be (disclaimer, I'm not a native English speaker): - If the parameter is not an array or an object with implemented Countable interface, 1 will be returned. - If the parameter is not an array and not an object with implemented Countable interface, 1 will be returned. - If the parameter is not an array nor an object with implemented Countable interface, 1 will be returned. -- Edit bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=74828&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.4): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=trysnapshot54 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.5): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=trysnapshot55 Try a snapshot (trunk): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=trysnapshottrunk Fixed in SVN: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=fixed Fixed in release: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=needscript Try newer version: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=oldversion Not developer issue: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=support Expected behavior: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=notwrong Not enough info: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=submittedtwice register_globals: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=php4 Daylight Savings: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=dst IIS Stability: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=gnused Floating point limitations: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=float No Zend Extensions: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=74828&r=mysqlcfg
