Following both the links on the manual page referenced, I have no problem loading pages that provide
downloads for openldap (I am in the UK, if this makes any difference). Please recheck your sources
and/or clarify which links are broken.

Hello, the manual suggests installing openldap from bind9.net which is not working anymore:
http://php.net/manual/en/ldap.requirements.php
The bind9.net site is down for quite some while now - according to some archives since several years
now. Maybe we should remove it from the manual to avoid reading confusions.
