This is some years old by now and the OP never came back and clarified whether the response helped
or not, so I'm closing this.
Feel free to reopen when the issue still exists.

«No such object» means the LDAP tried to work on a dn that does not exists.
In the case of ldap_search, it means that the search base does not exists.

Documentation doesn't mention or explain this.
