这个问题很早就存在了，php
5.6开始,.chm文件不能全文搜索，bug到目前一直存在

This problem has existed for a very long time, since php 5.6,.chm files cannot be searched in full
text, and the bug has persisted until now

Thanks for the screenshot!  Exactly this works for me.  I can only
imagine that it is a codepage related issue; the CHM is supposed
to use CP 936[1] which may not be compatible with your system?

I have just downloaded php_manual_zh.chm (built on 2021-08-13),
and the fulltext search works for me (Windows 10 21H1).  Or is
this about php_enhanced_zh.chm?  Which search term doesn't work
for you (just give an example)?
