online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time

On the german page is_numeric(), you can read:
Numerische Strings bestehen aus einem optionalen Zeichen, einer Anzahl
Ziffern, einem optionalen Dezimalteil und einem optionalen
Exponentialteil.
The correct translation would be:
Numerische Strings bestehen aus einem optionalen Vorzeichen, einer
Anzahl Ziffern, einem optionalen Dezimalteil und einem optionalen
Exponentialteil.
