Since the online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient. Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-05-27 15:22:12] xilaworp at gmail dot com Description: ------------ The terminology used to describe setting the registry value for php.ini is somewhat misleading. Had some trouble figuring out how to set the php.ini file path under Windows Server 2003 / IIS6. Turns out the way it works is to create a registry KEY named HKLM/PHP/x.y.z or HKLM/PHP/x.y. or HKLM/PHP/x. Where x, y and z are versions as described and a STRING VALUE named IniFilePath Where you enter just the path to the php.ini file. using the Windows REGEDIT Tool Backslashes should be entered twice ie C:\\PHP The Windows registry consists of hierarchical keys (Think folders/directories) which can hold values one type of which is a string calue. The documentation talks about registry locations which is ambiguous (are they keys or values?) and does not conform to standard MS terminology.
