At http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mysql-stat.php
two examples
are given on how to obtain information about the database status. The
first example use the mysql_stat() function, the second is meant to show
how to use the mysql_query("SHOW STATUS") I think - as this query is
mentioned in the Return Values section of the page. But the query
actually used in the example is "SHOW VARIABLES".
