Needs to be documented.

In either case, the configure option still needs updating, since the
description is wrong.

That information is not listed in http://php.net/mhash,
http://php.net/hash, nor http://php.net/manual/en/migration53.php. A
simple Google search for "mhash backward compatibility" returns zero
results. If this is actually documented, please tell me where it is.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us, but this is not
a bug. Please double-check the documentation available at
http://www.php.net/manual/ and the instructions on how to
report
a bug at http://bugs.php.net/how-to-report.php
--enable-mhash enables the mhash backward compatibility layer within
the hash extension, which allows the old mhash* functions to be used
with the new extension.
