From: dave at deltatns dot com Operating system: wamp PHP version: Irrelevant PHP Bug Type: Documentation problem Bug description: suggest changing which is does by default--ambiguous Description: ------------ in the print_r section called Parameters: I would suggest changing "If this parameter is set to TRUE, print_r() will return its output, instead of printing it (which it does by default). " to "...its output ( return=false, the default setting will print it)" or some other phrase to remove the ambiguity of what the default might be. I am slower than most people. It took me 15 seconds or so to not read the above with the meaning true will print it. very low priority and maybe not worth doing...just FYI of my read of it. The manual is a really valuable resource, which I use constantly. I am very grateful to all who have contributed and worked on it. Thanks Dave Reproduce code: --------------- --- From manual page: function.print-r#Parameters --- -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=50730&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=trysnapshot52 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.3): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=trysnapshot53 Try a snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in SVN: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=fixed Fixed in SVN and need be documented: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=needdocs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=php4 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=50730&r=mysqlcfg
