Bug description:Cannot specify "no extension" with --ext
Description:

The original patch to allow alternative file extensions using --ext at the
command line allowed the user to pass
--ext=false to use no file
extension. The patch was modified before being applied, thereby
accidentally removing that feature. This patch restores the missing
functionality.
