Summary: Fileinfo extension is not enabled by default
Status: Open
Type: Documentation Problem
Package: Windows Installer
Operating System: Windows 7
PHP Version: 5.3.2
New Comment:
So a more correct term would be "included by default"?
You in your own reply say that one has to manually enable it, which
opposes the "enabled by default" statement.

The phrase "enabled by default" means that it is part of the default
builds. Previously it wasn't available with the default builds, but had
to be included separately. It doesn't necessarily mean that it is
"enabled", Windows for example, builds most extensions as shared and
have to be enabled in php.ini

Description:
------------
The documentation says that this extension should be enabled by default
as of 5.3.0, but when installing PHP 5.3.2, this extension is not
enabled by default.
