Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2010-09-06 06:44:17] cataphract@php.net Automatic comment from SVN on behalf of cataphract Revision: http://svn.php.net/viewvc/?view=revision&revision=303065 Log: - Clarifying apparently contradictory phrase, as per bug #52695 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2010-08-25 13:58:22] Adrian dot L dot Parker at gmail dot com Description: ------------ See: http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.gc.refcounting-basics.php Example #6 The first sentence indicates there is one zval: "From the above Xdebug output, we see that both the old and new array element now point to a zval container whose "refcount" is 2" and this is what I expected, but the second sentence: "Of course, there are now two zval containers, but they are the same one." This says there are two zval containers, but it also says they are the same one. Which is it? Either there are two zval containers (with the same value), or there is one. This second sentence also seems to contradict the first which clearly says there is a single zval container (which makes sense given the image preceding it). Expected result: ---------------- If there are two zval containers, which both have the same value, I'd expect the documentation to say that. However if there is just one zval container, as per the example image and the first sentence, then you should not say, "Of course, there are now two zval containers, but they are the same one." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=52695&edit=1
