Since the online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient. Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better. You are technically correct. The best kind of correct. :) Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2012-03-19 02:53:21] aharvey@php.net Automatic comment from SVN on behalf of aharvey Revision: http://svn.php.net/viewvc/?view=revision&revision=324347 Log: Fix doc bug #61420 (more-entropy parameter description). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2012-03-16 19:17:11] silverwoodchuck47 at yahoo dot com Description: ------------ --- From manual page: http://www.php.net/function.uniqid#refsect1-function.uniqid-parameters --- For the 'more-entropy' parameter, the explanation is: "If set to TRUE, uniqid() will add additional entropy (using the combined linear congruential generator) at the end of the return value, which should make the results more unique." My report is just a quibble with the use of term 'more unique'. Something is unique or it isn't. Something can't be "more unique." It's like "almost pregnant"--you are or you aren't--there's no in between. I suggest the following: "If set to TRUE, uniqid() adds additional entropy (using the combined linear congruential generator) at the end of the return value, which increases the likelihood that the result is unique." Test script: --------------- Not applicable. Expected result: ---------------- Not applicable. Actual result: -------------- Not applicable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=61420&edit=1
