From: Operating system: PHP version: Irrelevant Package: Documentation problem Bug Type: Documentation Problem Bug description:user note to remove: Pointless, Confusing, Already stated & probably inaccurate Description: ------------ I'd like to bring to your attention the following post: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.halt-compiler.php#105994 Not only is this comment very confusing, it only appears to be re-stating what the manual already stated. Their code snippet is not helpful at all since it does nothing but merely show how the __halt_compiler() language construct works. To make matters worse, their PHP comment: "at this point, PHP interprets stuff with waiting for rest" uses terrible grammar. I can't for the life of me make heads or tails of what the poster meant to say. Their opening line is a run-on that uses terrible coding terminology. It will confuse many since it makes close to no sense at all to begin with. It attempts to point something out that the manual already states and its a waste of space and everyone's time. Even if you could find some merit in this post, I wouldn't consider the poster very reliable in the least judging from his or her poor code terminology and snippet. Do us all a favor and just delete it. -- Edit bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=61560&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.4): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=trysnapshot54 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.3): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=trysnapshot53 Try a snapshot (trunk): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=trysnapshottrunk Fixed in SVN: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=fixed Fixed in SVN and need be documented: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=needdocs Fixed in release: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=needscript Try newer version: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=oldversion Not developer issue: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=support Expected behavior: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=notwrong Not enough info: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=submittedtwice register_globals: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=php4 Daylight Savings: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=dst IIS Stability: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=gnused Floating point limitations: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=float No Zend Extensions: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=61560&r=mysqlcfg
