There is a typo on the ssh2_connect() manual page. Under
Parameters/methods/hostkey the "meaning" reads:
"List of hostkey methods to advertise, come separated in order of preference."
It should be:
"List of hostkey methods to advertise, comma separated in order of preference."
come => comma.
