CVS Rollback Error

Alright, using:
"cvs up -r 1.2 getrusage.xml"
Then doing:
"cvs commit"
And entering a standard "this is being roll'd back"
type message, I get:
cvs commit: Examining .
cvs server: sticky tag
1.2' for file getrusage.xml' is not a branch
cvs [server aborted]: correct above errors first!
At this point I'm just inclined to make the correct
change I wanted to, and just let it fall as 1.4,
but I wanted to ask here first, before I did that.
Any ideas?
