Hello everyone, This began as a simple note updating everyone with what was talked about in IRC last weekish but now includes a weekly account of [hopefully] everything and will evolve. If you have ideas or suggestions or complaints then please mention them. And if something is forgotten, write about it. * Things talked about last week in #php.doc on IRC: - We should keep the list up-to-date with what we talk about on IRC as the list is our official method for communication whereas IRC is casual. - The parts of PhD: http://doc.php.net/wiki/phd - Use of the wiki, and that Philip will implement our @php.net auth system into it: http://doc.php.net/wiki/ - Nobody wants to deal with cygwin+build magic so we'll instead focus on PhD and leave make/autoconf as is for Win users until then. - We need better _GET related documentation for newbies. Current: http://php.net/variables.external http://php.net/manual/tutorial.forms - A mirror having sqlite installed affects our links. For example: http://php.net/http.httpmessage http://php.net/manual/http.HttpMessage.php http://php.net/manual/http.httpmessage.php If sqlite is installed, the first one will work. The last one never does. - Our build system holds people back but PhD will save us. - It was revealed that my php3 removal patch was deleted due to user error (I deleted that phpdoc checkout). :( - That we need more Jakub's in the world to close bugs, and we miss Mehdi. * People who recently received commit access: - Simion Onea - A phpdoc-ro translator who often reported bugs in en/ so thankfully he'll now work on both. - Paul Reinheimer - Involved in the PHP community already, but now a member of the php.net party. - Zaenal Mutaqin - Will work on the Indonesian translation. * A few other notes: - Mailing list split. CVS commits now go to doc-cvs@, Doc bugs to doc-bugs@, and general communication remains at phpdoc@. - A move towards Dave's configure.php from autoconf although this is not yet complete mainly due to people not wanting to mess with the Windows+Cygwin magic. Hannes has recently installed Windows and is trying. :) - All 12 pending doc account requests were written on Sept.12 with one response so far. - PhD (the new build system) has its own bug category now. Regards, Philip
