Before i getting to the promoting point i want to proper introduce myself.
I'm Dave Mertens and i'm working for a Dutch company called Innovative Solutions in Media.
I even a few times speaker on some development meetings to talk about PHP. I'm programming PHP
for 3 years now.
Ok, when i'm speaking about PHP i get afterwards always a lot of questions. They say, ok sound
great and all.
But then they are asking, i'm doing this and that in ASP (or .net, java, etc) and how can i do
that in PHP.
That is the most common question i get from 'foreign' programmers.
Top 3:
1. XML
2. SOAP
3. OOP programming
When i'm speaking about PHP on the convention/meeting i'm usually using the PHP
Presentation application (in CVS know as pres) or an MS powerpoint presentation.
But the slide shows in the PHP pres app are mostly the same ;-(
I also think it's wise to write some case studies/articles about topics like xml, soap, xslt,
sockets and how to use them in the real world.
And i a few posts i saw that the evangelism project needs a forum. Pear is containing a forum based
on Phorum.
Because i have a hard time express myself in the english language people mostly get the wrong idea
about the thing o'm writing.
So i've something is now complete clear to you, don't hasitate to ask for some more
explaining.
Cheers,
Dave Mertens
