Has anyone written an e-commerce application that enables customers to pay
using PayPal, and then automatically e-mails a file (text, photo, MP3, etc.)
to the customer?
I want to use PayPal because it has zero transaction fees. Wells Fargo
charges me up to 12% for small credit card transactions.
PayPal eliminates the need for a secure website. All credit card processing
is done on PayPal's website.
PayPal sends an e-mail to the seller saying, "joe123@aol.com has paid you $3
and attached this note: 'I want gilliananderson.jpg.'" All I have to do is
write a PHP app that parses the e-mail into
"joe123@aol.com, $1, gilliananderson.jpg" and then sends out the photo to
that address.
A zillion people would sell softgoods on their websites if there was a
simple, cheap e-commerce application. By transferring functions to PayPal,
the e-commerce app becomes small and simple.
Comments? Anyone want to develop it with me? Or am I re-inventing a wheel?
