I am not sure what you are asking here, but I would say the JavaScript option is probably least desirable. :)
Seriously, a form consists of as many form fields of as many different types as you need. Once submitted, it's submitted. There is no "refresh" or anything that takes place. The data is submitted to a resource specified in the "action" attribute of the <form> tag. What you do with it there, as well as what you send back to the client, depends on your needs.
