I think you should really take a look at the reasons why other stores DON'T
take this approach... these will include:
- JavaScript may not be available
- the most ideal way to maintain state on a web site is through sessions
- frames can be problematic
IMHO, any cart type system not using some form of a session (including
cookies) is asking for trouble. And any session system using ONLY cookies
is asking for it as well :)
There's a reason wy the big sites pass a session ID around in the URL, don't
use frames, don't rely on javascript, don't rely on cookies, etc etc.
