oo in php is said to be slower then procedural programming but eventually it'll be up to par. oo is much better way of programming so you should get into the habit. -----Original Message----- From: Rick Emery [mailto:remery@emeryloftus.com] Sent: June 17, 2002 8:24 AM To: trongduc - fpt; php-general@lists.php.net Subject: Re: [PHP] is PHP a OOP language ? When you ask, "Is it strong?", do you mean strongly typed? If that is your question, then the answer is no. PHP is not strongly typed. A variable may hold any kind of value (integer, character, float, real, etc). The PHP interpreter selects the tyepe based upon the final value (lvalue) or rvalues. Sometimes, this is not what you want, so you can force it by using constants on the right-hand side. ----- Original Message ----- From: "trongduc - fpt" <trongduc@fptnet.com> To: <php-general@lists.php.net> Sent: Monday, June 17, 2002 1:37 AM Subject: [PHP] is PHP a OOP language ? hi all, I am a PHP newbie :-) I don't know if PHP is a OOP language or not. is it strong like C++ ? would you answer my questions ? thank you many times :-)
