Hi! I have a serious problem that I have to resole it as soon as possible:
On a Linux box (RedHat 6.2) I installed Oracle 8.1.6 and everything is ok
until now. Now I need to compile PHP4 with OCI8 support. I downloaded
php-4.0.1pl2.tar.gz and I configure it with the following options:
./configure --with-apxs --with-oci8 --enable-sigchild
Enviroment variable ORACLE_HOME exists and contains the correct path.
After that I issued "make" and "make install", I created a symbolic link
in /usr/lib for libclntsh.so.8, I issued "ldconfig" and I add
required AddType directive in httpd.conf. So far, so good.
But when I restart Apache, it crashed without any error message. No
"resuming normal operations" note was written in error_log.
I issued a "make distclean" in php source directory and then I recompile
it without --enable-sigchild (although it recommends me to include it for
Oracle >= 8.1.5), I compiled it and instaled it again and a started Apache
again. With the same fatal result: crash.
The courious thing is that when I compile php4 again only with --with-apxs
and without oci8 support (without --with-oci8 and
--enable-sigchild) Apache started correctly and php4 working.
So, my BIG problem is why I cannot have a operational Apache server with
php4 compiled with OCI8 support?
I'm so desperate that I beg everyone who run Oracle 8.1.6 on a Linux
server and that have php4 compiled with oci8, to send me libphp4.so by
e-mail, if this could help.
Apache server is one from RH 6.2 distribution (1.3.12-2) and my kernel
version is 2.2.16
Thx a lot in advance,
Radu
