I suppose you already have PHP4 running? If so... Create a new php document, and stick this in it: <?php phpinfo(); ?> Open it in your browser. Look beside the line that says, "Configuration File (php.ini) Path" Run updatedb in your shell, then do: locate php.ini* If it finds something like php.ini-dist, copy that file to wherever phpinfo() said it should be, then rename it to php.ini. Then edit the SMTP line. Brian P.S. Make sure you _do_not_ try to use an old php3.ini with PHP 4.sorry to disturb you for a question which could be evident for you.I don't know how to configure my php. I want to set the SMTP servername (which is localhost by default). I can't find any file like "php.ini" or "php.cfg". I'm using php4 under linux mandrake 7 (recent french redhat).
