addslashes is retartded.

why is addslashes explicitly added to any string now ?
it's foolish
if i make this file
<? echo $foo; ?>
then refer to http://somewhere.com/file.php?foo="bar"
it spits out
\"bar\"
i did't even ask for this.. is this gonna be fixed, or
so we just consider accept it ?
