Mr Tuller:
I created two utilities, one which queries a database and collects the
results into a single, multi-dimensional array. The second (actually a set
of files each with a different type of output) is a file that generates the
graphs based on that array (and is used as an included in the first).
The most prevelant functions were the mysql_fetch_array(), and the image
functions: imageline(), imagerectangle(), imagefontheight() and
imagefontwidth().
The select statements must be constructed very clean and predictably to
produce usable results, and the graph utility needs to be flexible in how
many labels it will show on the x/y axis, as well as including scaling
capabilities (a way of dividing the data peaks by the graph size) to allow
for dramatic differences in data.
I think this is perhaps somewhat vague, but the question seemed more a
request for direction?
Respectfully:
RW

Has anyone had success in creating graphs from data in a mysql database?
What did you use?
Mike
