I'm having problems getting php 4.0 to compile. My current environment is:
Red Hat 6.2
apache 1.3.12
w/ php 3.0, php ldap, php imap, etc (all the "add on" php rpm's from Red
Hat)
Gnu make 3.78.1
flex 2.5.4
bison 1.28
These were all installed from the Red Hat RPM's, most if not all are from
the 6.2 cd (I may have a newer
version of flex and bison from the web install, but that's about it).
I configured it with:
# ./configure --with-apxs
(also tried --with-ldap, --with-imap cause that's what I really want)
When I run make, I get the following:
# make
Making all in Zend
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/jeffc/php/php-4.0.0/Zend'
/bin/sh ../libtool --silent --mode=compile gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.
-I.. -DXML_BYTE_ORDER=12 -g -O2 -Wall -c zend-scanner.c
In file included from /usr/include/errno.h:36,
from ./zend-scanner.l:41:
/usr/include/bits/errno.h:25: linux/errno.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [zend-scanner.lo] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jeffc/php/php-4.0.0/Zend'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
One of the errors was that linux/errno.h was missing. Just to see if it
would help, I edited /usr/include/errno.h
and commented out "#include linux/errno.h" to see if I could get past that.
I then got:
# make
Making all in Zend
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/jeffc/php/php-4.0.0/Zend'
/bin/sh ../libtool --silent --mode=compile gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.

I tried uninstalling php 3, did make clean, and redid the configure and make
just in case, but same errors. I checked the faqs, and saw the problems
with
Red Hat 6.1, but it looks like 6.2 fixed those. Also checked the other
items
in apxs, but everything looks good there (doesn't look like it gets that far
anyway).
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Jeff
