I unfortunately do not know the answer to your question. I would suggest: - Search the archives of this list by going to: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=php-general&r=1&w=2 use keywords like mySQL and Win95 or win you may also search in the lists related to mySQL. I myself intend to try to install apache/php/mysql on win95, although I am not highly motivated because I quite enjoy leaving the management of the server to my linux host. I apologize for not being of greater assistance. If I come across something more specific, i'll let you know.<disclaimer> I've never used MySQL on a Win32 machine. </disclaimer> Hi guys, Hemant, it may be a matter of just editing your php3.ini to get it to load the mysql library. I don't. know. Maybe this will help you find the solution: http://www.php.net/manual/install-windows95-nt.php Under `Edit your php.ini file', you'll see: "Choose which modules you would like to load when PHP starts. You can uncomment the: 'extension=php_*.dll' lines to load these modules. Some modules require you to have additional libraries installed on your system for the module to work correctly. The PHP FAQ has more information on where to get supporting libraries. You can also load a module dynamically in your script using: dl("php_*.dll");" Now, go open your php3.ini and uncomment the line for the mysql dll: ;Windows Extensions extension=php3_mysql.dll Then restart Apache, and stick this in a php file and load it into your browser: <?php mysql_select_db(); ?> You will see an error, but if it doesn't say something like `undefined function,' but, rather, something along the lines of `wrong argument count' then you know you have access to the MySQL functions now. From there it's just a matter of learning how to use them. Although, running MySQL, PHP and Apache on a Win95 box has to be sluggish.. Brian

I have installed Apache 1.3.12 (Win32) and PHP3. I am enjoying development but the main problem is MySQL database. I have installed MySQL Server version 3.22.34-shareware-debug. I have created databases and tables through DOS console. But whenever I try to connect to the database through PHP command mysql_connect() or mysql_pconnect() it shows the following error message; Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function mysql_pconnect() in c:\apache\htdocs\php-bin\test.php3 on line 31 I have checked the manual of MySQL and it says that : This means that your PHP version isn't compiled with MySQL support. You can either compile a dynamic module of MySQL and load it into PHP or recompile PHP with built-in MySQL support. This is described in detail in the PHP manual. I am not getting how to compile PHP with MySQL and don't want to be. I just wanted to develop the application on PHP with MySQL. So, is there any thing that I should do to run the PHP and MySQL simultaneusly. I request you true peoples, to kindly give me the direction to solve this problem. Thanks, Hemant Kumar
