I recently installed PHP on my FreeBSD server which is running apache. I tried to connect to my MySQL database and received the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /home/reflectionmedia/www/php/index.php on line 3When you configured it, you should have used --with-mysql because it's telling you that you do not have access to any mysql functions.
Any ideas what is wrong and how to allow me to connect to my databases? If you built it yourself (Ie. you didn't use the ports system), then you need to go into your php source directory (if you kept it), remove config.cache and re-configure PHP --with-mysql and `make ; make install' it again. Other than that, if you did install using ports, then you can remove the port, then grab the source tarball from php.net and install it from scratch using something along the lines of: ./configure --with-mysql (other options here) make ; make install Verify Apache's httpd.conf once again to make sure it's correct, then restart Apache.
