Are you 100% sure the whole server is being slammed by this?...
Or is it just the page you are viewing is waiting for the popen to finish,
depsite your & in the command?...
I dunno if popen returns the process id number or not, but I *THINK* you can
reduce the priority with another exec() if it does...
