Download the web-server that is named apache-1.3.xx (highest xx) and ends in
.tar.gz from:
http://apache.org/
Save it in /usr/src or somewhere convenient.
cd to that directory:
cd /usr/src
Untar it:
tar -xzf apache-1.3.xx.tar.gz
(Replace xx with the right thing. "tab" key may be useful after you've
typed 'apa' part.)
Move into the Apache directory:
cd apache-1.3.xx
(See above)
Read any files named INSTALL and/or README and/or inside a directory that
looks like it might be documentation (docs, documentation, etc)
Follow the instructions in those files carefully.

I'm looking for a PRO QUALITY two-input sound card supported by Linux (any
major distro). Need to record live events (mixed already) to stereo
CD-quality. Soundcard Recommendations?
Software to handle the recording? Don't need fancy mixer stuff. Zero (0)
post-production time. Just raw PCM/WAV/AIFF 16+ bit, 44.1KHz, Stereo
audio-to-disk.
