Automatic Last Modified Headers

Hi, this is more a suggestion than anything else as I doubt it's possible but is there a way of getting PHP to output the "Last-Modified" header as the most recent date of all the files going into another file (i.e. if there's a readfile statement of require, etc. this file's date may be used). This would fix a number of problems that we are having, any clues? John
