setcookie question

I need to create a cookie that is accessible from more than 1 application,
but on the same server. What would be the proper syntax? What I tried was
setcookie ("myCookie","$cookie_value",$timeToExpire,'/'); Right or
wrong or
impossible? Should I not have used the "/"? Thanks.
