form with more then one textarea wont update in MYSQL

When i try to update a tabel of MYSQL with values from
if ($id)
{
$sql = "UPDATE vacatures SET
functie='$functie',omschrijving='$omschrijving', bedrijf='$bedrijf',
functieinhoud='$functieinhoud',functieeisen='$functieeisen',salarisindicatie='$salarisindicatie'
WHERE id=$id";
}
<input type="text" name="functie" value="<?php echo
$functie?>" >
<textarea name="bedrijf" value="<?php echo $bedrijf ?>"><?php
echo $bedrijf ?></textarea>
<textarea name="functieinhoud" value="<?php echo $functieinhoud
?>"><?php echo $functieinhoud ?></textarea>
<textarea name="functieeisen" value="<?php echo $functieeisen
?>"><?php echo $functieeisen ?></textarea>
it wont work. However when i have only one <textarea> it works perfectly. So when i try to
change more then one textarea and the input type field together the Update query only updates the
<input type=text> en the first word of the first <textarea>.
dont matter the missing code. That works fine.
