In your apache configuration, add the following line:
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php
This tells apache to pass files ending with .php to the built in PHP
interpreter.

Subject: [PHP] Basic question (?php not working in html)
Hello,
I did try to find this in the FAQ or other places but didn't...
I just installed php4 (with apache on linux) and can get the following to
work:
if I create a file like test.php and put
<?phpinfo()?>
in it, going to myserver/test.php with a a browser shows phpinfo.
but if I try to do the following in an html file:
<HTML><BODY><?phpinfo()?></BODY></HTML>
nothing happens. That is the browser shows a blank screen.
Any idea why php might work in a php file and not in an
html file.
Thanx in advance.
