I can't seem to display error messages and warnings in the html output, although errors get logged correctly. I have tried various settings in php.ini and have looked around on the php site --but obviously not in the right place. Here is what I believe to be the relevant portion of my php.ini file: php.ini> ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; php.ini> ; Error handling and logging ; php.ini> ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; php.ini> ; error_reporting is a bit-field. Or each number up to get desired error php.ini> ; reporting level php.ini> ; E_ALL - All errors and warnings php.ini> ; E_ERROR - fatal run-time errors php.ini> ; E_WARNING - run-time warnings (non-fatal errors) php.ini> ; E_PARSE - compile-time parse errors php.ini> ; E_NOTICE - run-time notices (these are warnings which often result php.ini> ; from a bug in your code, but it's possible that it was php.ini> ; intentional (e.g., using an uninitialized variable and php.ini> ; relying on the fact it's automatically initialized to an php.ini> ; empty string) php.ini> ; E_CORE_ERROR - fatal errors that occur during PHP's initial startup php.ini> ; E_CORE_WARNING - warnings (non-fatal errors) that occur during PHP's php.ini> ; initial startup php.ini> ; E_COMPILE_ERROR - fatal compile-time errors php.ini> ; E_COMPILE_WARNING - compile-time warnings (non-fatal errors) php.ini> ; E_USER_ERROR - user-generated error message php.ini> ; E_USER_WARNING - user-generated warning message php.ini> ; E_USER_NOTICE - user-generated notice message php.ini> ; php.ini> ; Examples: php.ini> ; php.ini> ; - Show all errors, except for notices php.ini> ; php.ini> ;error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE php.ini> ; php.ini> ; - Show only errors php.ini> ; php.ini> ;error_reporting = E_COMPILE_ERROR|E_ERROR|E_CORE_ERROR php.ini> ; php.ini> ; - Show all errors except for notices php.ini> ; php.ini> #error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE php.ini> error_reporting = E_ALL php.ini> ; Print out errors (as a part of the output). For production web sites, php.ini> ; you're strongly encouraged to turn this feature off, and use error logging php.ini> ; instead (see below).
