Hi, I am a very beginner and am trying to figure out if it is possible
to create a php file alone (not in conjunction with a html form) that
allows the user to input the value of several variables? Here is what I
am trying to do, I don't have any web server software installed on my
home computer and my home computer is not always connected to the
internet so I am looking for a way to simulate a html form passing
variables onto a php file. I was thinking that I could just use
something like Qbasic language where you say Input "What is your
name";name$ in a php script and then the php file could spit out Hello
name$. I figured this would be a good way to simulate what I really
want to do which would be something like have an html form that ask for
name and then the user types in a name and the php file processes it and
says hello <name> but like I said I don't have any web server software
installed on my home win95 computer so I can't just make the html form
and php file and locally test it.
So will my plan of creating just a modified php file for local testing
work or is there a better idea? Can I create a php file alone that ask
the user for input and then can take that input and process it?
Thanks, if you want to reply personally, remove all numbers from my
address.
BTW: Are my anti spam measures necessary on this server?
