Hi *,
I am just getting ready to compile a fresh PHP/Apache, and want to add all the nifty options I can
to avoid this most nasty experience in the future.
I usually customize my installs a lot, so everytime I redo it, it is not a small undertaking.
Here is what I have so far:
./configure \
--with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 \
--with-mysql \
--enable-track-vars \
--with-xml \
--with-gd \
--with-ttf \
--with-ftp \
--with-imap \
--disable-debug \
--enable-inline-optimization
I also want PDF support, Aspell ( I think that is the one, for spell checking ), Zend, and a couple
that I have seen, bookmarked, and can't remember right now.
Any that you all use a lot or recommend? I am running Red Hat Linux 6.2, the latest Apache, the
latest PHP/Zend, and the Latest MySQL. We do mostly e-commerce web sites, with image manipulation /
resizing / creation, on the fly graphs, want on the fly PDF's, etc.
Any chance in the future of being able to have a DSO/APXS type of module support in PHP? It would
be great not to have to recompile to add in a feature, but perhaps not at the expense of
performance.
This is a pretty scattered post, but hopefully you can recommend something that will be beneficial
to the myriad users probably having the same thoughts...
Thanks,
Brian
