Weird $PHP_SELF with windows 2000

I just downloaded the windows php binary and I'm getting a weird $PHP_SELF:
$PHP_SELF = /knowledgebase/add_category.php/knowledgebase
It is the correct path to the file and then the directory is appended???
I'm running Xitami web server 2.5b1.
Any ideas?
The same code works great on linux with apache of course.
