does anybody have an idea why would my post method not work, I have a page that allows an upload of 1 file. THe user can do it many times so the page is set it an if statement which detects whether the user has upload anything, if so the list is shown, otherwise a different message is shown. I tested the gizmo with $HTTP_POST_VARS and $_POST (register globals = off) to no avail. GET method works fine for this form (except I cannot upload ofcourse) but POST does not pass the value assigned to the button, here is the form echo("<form enctype=\"multipart/form-data\" action=\"test_form.php\" method=\"POST\">\n"); echo("<input name=\"userfile\" type=\"file\">\n"); echo("<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"MAX_FILE_SIZE\" value=\"1000000\">\n"); echo("<input type=\"submit\" name=\"submit\" value=\"submit\">\n"); echo("</form>\n"); the is statement checks if the value of $submit == "submit". (a standard procedure) Thanks in advance, R> __D_E_S_I_G_N _ _I_S_ _ _T_H_E_ _ _M_E_S_S_A_G_E__ find finalbanana web design and consulting at: http://www.finalbanana.com e-mail: info@finalbanana.com
