What I would do is nest the frames...
index.html: two frames: top.html and frames2.html
frames2.html: two frames: nav.html and body.html
that way by updating the frames2 frame you can modify both the nav and body
frames.
That's a pretty crude example but I think it would work.

I have a need to update two frames at the same time. I am avoiding Java at
all costs.
Has anyone managed to do this using PHP/HTML. I know of one way to do it in
HTML but its a bit messy.
