I changed my code and added header("Cache-Control: no-cache"); The header has now become: Cache-Control: no-cacheGood. :-)
However N7 still says (in the Media Bar (from view Page Info)) that the contents are not cached ... Maybe a bug in N7? Though I don't think so since it obviously caches pages when I surf the net ....Sorry, I thought you were interested in the difference in behavior between your Netscape 7 and IE. Maybe I am confusing two different questions/conversations. The "no-cache" directive does prevent caching in a manner of speaking, but it allows your browser to store a copy of the resource. It only requires that a cache validate a resource rather than having to refetch it. The "no-store" directive does not even allow a cache to store a copy. Thus, both prevent caching to different extents. If you just want to allow caching, try header("Cache-Control: public"). Also, you are speaking about images but showing the HTTP transaction used to retrieve the HTML. You will want to examine the HTTP transaction used to fetch the image itself in order to analyze the caching behavior of your browser with respect to that image. For images, unless you are generating them in PHP, it's going to be a Web server configuration to change any headers. This all may make little sense, as it is extremely late here (east coast US). If it confuses more than helps, just ignore it. :-) Chris
