Updating Textboxes from MySQL database

Hello, I'm generating a list of textboxes each containing blobs from a MySQL database. I want the user to be able to alter the information in any one of the textboxes and then click an "update" button and have that entry updated in the MySQL database. The solution I'm leaning toward is to have the "compare" button be a submit button, and on the resulting page compare each of the variables generated by the textboxes to the database and then update any entry that doesn't find a match.
