slow form - database

I work on Win 2k, MS SQL Server 2k and php.
The scripts (web form to database) I make were fine at the beginning. Now
they make fast querys to the database. But when a INSERT, DELETE or UPDATE
is done, it takes a long, really long time to execute the query.
I have no clue about what can I do to fix this.
