may i suggest you post this in a CSS/DHTML/JavaScript list... perhaps: comp.infosystems.www.authoring.stylesheets comp.lang.javascript FWIW, the sample you provided doesn't work in IE5/Mac, so I wouldn't bother trying to adapt it to suit your needs, since it clearly hasn't been tested too well...
