Well, you're doing *something* wrong, 'cos it works fine here :-)
You have got an "AccessFileName .htaccess" directive, right?
You might like to try asking in
news:comp.infosystems.www.servers.ms-windows,
or hanging around here until
an Apache guru turns up...
