Running FreeBSD 2.2.7. I have some very strange issues with MySQL. Yesterday, I decided to upgrade my php and apache installs to later versions. I upgraded PHP from 3.0.15 to 3.0.16 and Apache from 1.3.11 to 1.3.12. I performed the same proceedure as I always have been doing when upgrading. I took notes the first time around and follow them anytime I do an upgrade. Both upgrades went off without a hitch. But now all of my php scripts are producing mysql errors. Queries perform just like before in most situations, but I get screen errors as if they didn't. A few scripts are refusing to talk to mysql at all. Absolutely nothing was done with my mysql install though, I've been happily running the latest stable version for quite a while. I have phpMyAdmin running. It (now) allows me to view my list of databases and the tables under each, but I cannot view any of the records in the tables. It seems that when it comes to a web page hooking up to mysql, strange permissions issues are present. But when I login to mysql via telnet, I can see everything, databases, tables, all without a single error. I can perform a "select *" on any table and it shows me the entire table, rows and all. I thought maybe there was some mysql table corruption present, but after running isamchk -r, and then again running isamchk -o, I see no corruption. All the tables seem to be in good health. I went and had a look at my mysql log, and strangly enough it doesn't contain any error messages matching the web page errors I get from my php scripts. It just shows queries like nothing was wrong. Does anyone have any idea why simply upgrading php and apache would cause me to have such strange mysql permisssions issues? Since I began trouble shooting this morning, I have reinstalled php and apache again from scratch, to make sure I didn't foul things up yesterday. I even lost months of uptime by rebooting the server to see if that would help, nothing has changed. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Greg webmaster@destiney.com
