Bas,
I believe if you resend the authentication headers it will clear the
$PHP_AUTH_USER and $PHP_AUTH_PW variables and kick up the login again:
> header('WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="something"');
> header('HTTP/1.0 401 Unauthorized');
Try this out and see if it is what you are looking for.
