If index.php is the index page of your website, then you do not need to specify it at all. i.e. www.whatever.com/index.php?uName=Kris is functionally equivalent to www.whatever.com?uName=Kris A way to get rid of the variables passed in the query string is to use POST instead of GET as the method of your HTML form.
