It's actually a very interesting idea. It's hard to know how many people are
looking at your site at one instance in time because http is a stateless
protocol. If you really need to know write a little php function that logs
each page view to a db with a timestamp. Then when you want to find out how
many people have visited in the last 1, 5, 10 minutes pull the info from the
db.

Using PHP is there a way to get a reasonably accurate idea of how many
people are visiting my domain at a given time and display that count?
If so, could you give me some hints on how? I am very new to programming,
